Very nice video. I noted that it was uploaded in 2011, so it would be no surprise to see better and smaller machine available now. But the mini lab machine is small enough to carry around in the field. The software is quite sophisticated and there is a long list of metal properties in the package that the machine can use to detect various metals (note Au in one of the tables shown on the screen). This mini lab machine can stay in the drill shack, and I would carry a hand-held one in my backpack, even though it could be a bit less accurate than the mini lab machine.

Anyone knows if PRB has such machine? I have seen (on their video or presentations) junior exploration companies (much smaller than PRB) and with a budget of a few $M using something like this at their site a few year ago to have a check of their cores right after they have been pulled up.

Regardless, Dave knows "what lies beneath".
