I read that China and India and Russia are feverishly buying any gold they can get their hands on! Gold has been terribly manipulated for years. The greedy ones may cause one more big down to grab gold on the cheap, and again fleece M/M Joe Sixpack. I am a bit of a contrarian, and tend to be skeptical of the wisdom of many analysts. I lost most of my savings in the 2007 stock market crash listening to all the pros.

My gut feeling tells me that we will have a major crash in the U.S. stock market starting anytime, and a global reset of currencies. We may be at the market top right now.It might take a "BlackSwan" event - the demise of the Euro? Collapse of the FED/financial system? - to run for safe haven with gold once again. Gold will then begin a tremendous multi year bull leg up. It will be an historic buying opportunity. But what do I know, really? I've been early to the party too many times!
