I know the day ain't over yet but that does seem to be a contradiction. It suggests that someone is 'playing around'. If gold finishes strong today it seems to me that some mighty big players i.e. the Chinese, Indians, Arabs, etc really do not care what the dollar does because they and other huge gold buyers in the wings have made the decision to stay with gold as opposed to the Greenback.

Very interesting senarios. to bad we can't for the most part accurately decipher 'what in our world' is going on.
