Great posts. Nice to see some discussion here.

I also don't expect SGX-KXL merger anytime soon... but I do think it's a possibility just like consolidation, Kinross investment, combination of the two, etc. I do find it very interesting though how SGX and KXL are trading in sync... nobody can dispute that... no idea why but it has been happening for too long now for it to be just a coincidence IMO.

Although I have not had many good experiences with the 'C-word' (i.e. consolidation)... a 6-1 consolidation in combination with a major investment by Kinross (or whoever) taking a major stake in the new company could work out for the best... 6-1 right now would put SGX at 50 million shares out trading at about 32-36 cents... a simultaneous PP with 1 institution/major for 20 million shares at say, 50 cents ($10 million) would look good as it would give this major/institution a 30% stake in 'new SGX'... if this major/institution was Kinross their 8% stake would be almost 40%... more where they'd want to be anyhow...

Hard to believe SGX was trading at about 40 cents for most of 2008 and here we are talkign about 6-1 consolidation to get price anywhere near 40 cents...

re: upcoming Dec 3-4th online conference... what will be discussed?... SP only new results since latest site visits and CEO interview... nothing new in November presentation... will we get more SP and PL results before?... will they matter?

re: RMK-ONT merger... thought it interesting they have announced deal will close before the end of 2009... not end of Jan 2010 as originally announced... they want to move this deal ahead asap... nice to see at least some companies in this area want to advance something in a timely manner...
