I just wanted to let TFSA people know that you can put in more than $5,000/yr. The penalty is 1%/mth on the overpayment.

Given the timing of announcements forthcoming on SLI, for me the penalty is small potatoes compared to the tax-sheltered potential gains in the next 1-2 months for SLI.
