Also keep in mind the outstanding shares. I don't know , or have not looked them all up, but I do know the AND story.
They hit their 52 week high the day the deal was announced (Sept 03, 2010) when Goldcorp out bid Kinross:
3.5 Billion on 2.5 Million OZ (plus extra etc), BUT they have over 4.5 times the shares outstanding! That day (52 week high) they hit $7.33, on millions of volume trading.
Bottom Line, that day @ $7.33 (times 4.5 Minimum due to shares outstanding) :
SLI would be $7.33 X 4.5 = $33 (on 2.5 Million OZ)
Or if you did not get lucky and hit the 52 week high, you would get the following:
$3.5 Billion divided by our outstanding shares (approx 115 Million) = $30.43
