Hog, I would have to say I am thinking along those lines too. I see there was only one reply to this post of yours and thought it would have sparked more conversation. Even though what I will write will be almost the same as you did, I will throw my thoughts out there anyway.
At this point in time, it should be reasonable to think that the Tesoro property is on at least a couple of possible suitors radars. I mean , how could other miners in the industry not know of us. The big miners have scouts continuously looking for new prospects to add to their assets. This scouting as of late has become more pronounced as the price of metals sky rocket and the supply seems to be dwindling. And there is another dialogue that goes on behind the scenes between these industry participants that never really gets to our ears.
The PDAC would be a prime example of this dialogue,s existence. There were numerous parties there and many behind the scenes ones too where industry participants met and talked about their future prospects. Quantec had one of these such parties. I happened to be at their gathering after the show one night and met a couple of other small company owners. Everyone was having a few drinks and talking pretty freely about what some other companies that had the Quantec done might have and what they themselves might have. Anyways, you get the picture of how word gets around. I mention the Quantec gathering because Quantec is so reputable and widely used by industry leaders.
There is no doubt in my mind that our Titan 24 has been looked at by scouts from more than 1 major. Our Titan 24 is on display in our 43-101, anyone has easy access to it, especially a major. Unlike a lot of exploration companies, all our info is in plain site, a major does not have to get it from the company. Our data base contains all the info of the property if it has been updated, but that consists mostly of what is already public knowledge that we have put together here, and a geo can connect the dots in the data base much quicker, but the same as us. This data base could be handed over to a possible suitor if Lori felt it would help close a deal at a favourable price, but doesn,t have to be shown if she doesn,t want to use that tool.
So, because of the Quantec, I beleive we are on radars. Some companies are known to be on majors radars for years, they keep tabs on them, and if interested will make their move towards aquisition when the time is right. I remember a short while ago, hearing a major on BNN say how they had a junior on their radar for 2 years before they made a move and bought them out. Sometimes, during this radar watch, the major will buy some shares in the company, to get their toe in, sort of speak. Most times they will approach the junior behind closed doors to see if they can get some type of farm in agreement. If the junior says no, and the major thinks they will most definitly want the property down the road, the major may start aquiring shares of that junior to try a backdoor buy in. These majors have their own brokers and sometimes get them to aquire shares for them. One way a broker will do this, is by the accumulation method. The most efficient way to do this is to put a big block on the ask to discourage other buyers and cause smaller retail to sell. All the while the broker is keeping the sp in check and is aquiring every share under that ask as they can. They don,t want to be too obvious in this technique, so they use several houses for buying to look inconspicuous.
I looked at the new short report on us last night, I think it was around 53 k. Really that is nothing and doesn,t appear to be the main culprit to our sp, I would say the accumulation is a better fit. Either way, if a major is accumulating to try a take over, they are still gonna make money on their shares even if they are not the aquirer. The volume has trickled down to little lately, meaning that little shares are now being squeezed out of the oblivious, they are most likely all bought up.
As I suggested before, don,t sell a share if you dont have to. If you can hang on here, this has an excellent chance of making you a lot of money. The sp should not be this low right now. Sure, people will say the market will dictate what the sp should be, but keep in mind that the market is also comprised of majors brokers.
