Hi mimi,
A stink bid is when a trader or investor puts a bid at a ridiculously low price. If the stock price happens to fall that low, it gets filled and we have cheap shares. We are not affecting the current sp at all, in fact we may be helping it by showing support on the bid side. In this stock in the past, stop losses were used, and when the shorts wanted to push the stock down, they would sell stock to hit the stop losses and drive the sp ridiculously low. If this would have happened today, a number of us were ready to get more cheap shares to add to our long positions. The stock price would most likely have recovered back to its original price of the day, and much stronger because we would have just put more shares into safe hands.
IMO
Hope this helps in explaining what we were talking about.
