Without knowing the whole story, it looks like there was/is a need for higher liquidity in that stock. This could be for a large shareholder wanting to get out, or one wanting to get in and must buy at market. When the "dark pool" does not provide the liquidity needed, these type of actions will occur.

It will be a controlled event as not to influence the SP too drastically.
