Helicopter cost are about $1500/hour (cheap rate) most likely in a AS350 Astar. That's what they most likely used in B.C. It took me 4 days to drive from Goose Bay, Labrador to Thunder Bay with a stop in Kingston to drop off helicopter parts, total expenses, not including 40 hours of my wage, about $3000. Flight to Goose Bay for crew change for me and pilot, $2400. add on about $300 for excess baggage for my tools and parts I had to take. There was 7 crew changes from June to September. All economy. That was just one job we are working on, one helicopter. We have 7. So, you see, travel adds up very, very fast.
