The ring of fire, a massive chromite deposit in the James Bay lowlands, surrounded by swamp. There is talk of a road then a railway, 340km to the CN mainline near Nakina, Ontario, cost I have heard are above 2 - 3 billion. That is just to access this place and move the ore out. I have not heard any cost on getting power into the area. The road/rail corridors are being surveyed and explored now and have been for a few years. Only the first 100km or so accessible by ground vehicle. The rest is by helicopter. In 2010 the company I work for flew over 5000hrs of helicopter time, I would say over 2/3 of that for this project. In 2008 I worked in Hope Bay, Nunivut, on the east coast of Bathurst inlet, on the gold project Newmont had. They were talking another 15 years before it started to make money. Peru looks easy IMO.
