Lima, Nov. 05 (ANDINA). Peruvian President Ollanta Humala’s government is willing to welcome mining investments as long as they respect the environment and the Peruvian laws, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) Jose Luis Silva said.
In statements to the press, Minister Silva mentioned that the presence of three State ministers in the area shows the interest of the government in executing Yanacocha’s Conga project.
“The participation of three ministers shows the willingness, intention and interest of the Peruvian government for important investments such as Conga to be carried out as long as they respect the environment and the Peruvian laws,” said the minister.
The head of Mincetur noted Friday that the results of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Conga project in Cajamarca (northern highlands in Peru) will be given in 15 days.
“Every investment is welcome as long as they respect the law and the environment,” noted Silva.
