From my experience there is 2 kinds of Coring, Conventional and Wireline Coring. I have only done Conventional up here in Western Canada( 9m,18m and 27m core barrels). A couple of buddies that i know have done Wireline Coring. Wireline is alot faster especially if you Jam off at the shoe all the time due to fracture's.
