I am no geologist, but looking at the maps and other information provided by the hub, and my basic understanding of geology, how could salt water be trapped way up in the middle of a mountain like that?

I have placed my bets on it being rock vs salt water, but am interested in anyone with more knowledge that can explain the geological process that would result in saltwater being trapped inside a mountain like that.
