Message: Oily black gold

Firstly I want to apologize for the lack of paragraphs in yesterday’s post re the Euro problems. It makes it hard to read. I hope I have corrected the problem as the “Edit” button ran out while I was still running, and had to sign in again; hopefully I think I have corrected the problem

Just a quick note re the Canadian position re gold. The new sale at the Canadian mint brought in $600 million but unfortunately the mint is now down 600 million. A decade ago Brian Mulroney sold off the last of the gold reserves and of course at today’s prices it would take years to replace or add to that tonnage. However I must point out that Canada does have a lot of that black gold, and although a dwindling resource compared to physical gold, is nevertheless an immense back up to the paper currency and would certainly soften the blow of the coming monetary onslaught. (Canadian banks are also on the hook for the Euro tanking). Oil is not as easy to store as some nice shiny silver dollars, or shares in SLI! (a nice Christmas present for anyone!)
