Keep in mind, the opinions on this site are for the most part speculation and are not necessarily the opinions of the company WITHOUT PREJUDICE
The meetings, arranged by Launchpad Asia, LLC and NAI Interactive, were crucial in establishing St. Elias as a bona fide operation for Chinese investors to consider, said Chad Lewis, Launchpad Asia’s managing director of North America.
“By meeting with officials ranked this high in the system, we were able to secure approvals for investment companies across China to look at St. Elias for investment as well as secure approval to apply for listing in Asia,” Lewis said.
The meeting’s impact was almost immediate, Lewis said. By the time the St. Elias delegation returned from its trip, Launchpad Asia had fielded more than two dozen inquiries from Chinese investment firms and brokerage companies seeking meetings with St. Elias.
So, my interpretation of the above, would be;
That as a result from these meetings, the Chinese can start investing in SLI now. It would be interesting to know just how many clients the investment firms and brokerages will also bring to the table. As I mentioned in a previous post, there are 300 million middle class. If the 24 plus firms and brokerages have 10 interested clients each that want to become investors of SLI, that could be substantial after the next meetings.
If I am reading this right, I would say that buyers of our stock could come at anytime. I believe Instinet is one of the brokerages that China can buy through? Might be a good idea to keep an eye on the buyers in the future for any signs.
It also looks like approval has been secured for a listing there. I think this should be done sooner rather than later. It may help in giving us the push to prove up the Vilcoro and other Peruvian properties more quickly. But then again, to get this much interest so soon, the Chinese firms may not wait until we get a listing and buy soon after the meetings if they think they risk missing out on something big.
Some very interesting things may arise out of this trip to China.
Thanks Murry and Duncan, looks like you did an excellent job!
