Amen to that, Sculpin!
One of the most difficult tasks a CEO faces is managing stakeholder/shareholder expectations. Perhaps some of us expect too much too soon? Drilling, trenching, and analyzing results takes time. And on top of that we had Christmas holidays thrown into the mix. We need to give the company time to do things right - no matter how much it hurts to wait.
IMHO - the news release could have focused more on how SLI is progressing with work in the field (so many meters drilled, so many core samples taken, etc.), without giving specific assay results. A timeline for finishing the work and some indication of when real results should be expected would have helped too. That might have been enough to calm the tsunami of demands for news, and give management room to maneuver.
FYI - I'm new here on this board, but I've been watching and reading for a while now. I did my DD too, and like Sculpin kept coming back to the same point: This looks like a great project! The top factors that convinced me to buy in (in October 2011), buy more last week, and commit to staying in for the long haul were:
- The geo reports and the Quantec survey results.
- The amount of skin that management has in the game.
- The incredibly valuable information available right here on this board. (I read the other one too but there is almost nothing of value there - just bashing.)
