From what I can tell, IGD was formed by Jamie Rainbird in 2007 from what looks like a spin off from Capital Pool Company, Seaness Capital Corporation. IGD started trading publically in 2010. At some point Jamie Rainbird became only a director and brought in Lori McClenahan as Director President and CEO. The company formed a strategic alliance with St. Elias Mines Ltd. and I’m guessing at that point Lori took control and brought along the entire SLI management team.
My feeling is that what everyone is referring to as a ‘shell game’ is really just inventive ways to finance exploration programs. Separating the companies spreads out the risk and rewards to the various investors. On a whole, I think the group of companies works well together because the geographical proximity to each other implies that finding gold at one increases the prospects of finding it at the others….. or at least that’s how I see it.
