I tend to view this Havilah news a little differently then some here. I think it is a positive that the spin off has just been postponed until fall and not cancelled all together. We all know that the main reason for the spin off was to organize the company into a format that would make the sale of peruvian assets (whether all or in part) easier and less complex. The fact that it has just been postponed tells me that Lori feels a Peruvian asset sale is still in the cards making this spin off still essential. Amazing that this would still be a consideration considering all the news has been obviously trying to paint a negative picture for tesoro. I wonder if it is pure co-incidence that Lori's shareholder conference call advised everyone not to worry about the share price until fall (sept or Oct I can't recall)..who knows.
As upset as I have been with the games that have been going on here, I am glad to finally get a firm definitive answer regarding the Havilah proceedings and am not surprised in the least to read that it has been postponed.
Hope the meetings this week in Vancouver go well!!!
