With all the recent news lately alleging widespread corruption, interest rate fixing and other shenanigans in places where a certain level of trust used to exist ( banks, financial markets, government, etc. ) how is the average joe to place any trust in what anyone says anymore ? If I were a conspiracy theorist, I would tend to think that this is all leading somewhere - and with a decidedly sinister overtone. If what is being alleged is true, then a gross amount of power and money is being concentrated in too few hands - past history shows that nothing good comes when those conditions are present on a wide scale. Don't get me wrong - I know to a certain extent those conditions are always present, but it seems to me that with the world becoming more and more digitized, there are fewer and fewer paper trails to conclusively prove wrong doing anymore. People don't seem to give a rip anymore. Governments and big corporations think they've been given carte blanche to do as they jolly well please.( I better quit before any of you think I've gone over to the " flakey side ". )
