That short position may be the little bit that somebody got out of the ask block, before it was pulled one day. The MM,s and PO,s have to do buyins to settle trades sold/lost short, and sometimes they are forgotten, but if small, no big deal for a little bit. Maybe its something like that? Because it is odd for a short sale for that measly amount to be on the stock at this time.
