I'd be curious to know of a situation in the mind of the person who wrote that...of any democratic process (federal election, provincial election, who should be the captain of the peewee hockey team, pizza or pasta for dinner, etc.) where votes that individuals choose not to cast are considered in any way in the outcome...it is ALWAYS a % of voted shares that determine the majority...votes not cast are not relevant.... that IS democracy.
Yes they had 93% of voted shares and Yes that was about 56% of the total shares but it is still a 93% landslide majority no matter what way you slice it.
You can't change democracy just because you don't like the outcome...nor can you change mathematics... no matter how much you want 2+2 to equal 5.
if lack of logic were a crime...the writer of that quote would get life without parole.
