Keep in mind, the opinions on this site are for the most part speculation and are not necessarily the opinions of the company WITHOUT PREJUDICE
In light of the long sordid history of this company and the shareholders who are facing a more difficult future than they were just a few years ago. I think it is important for everyone to ask this question to themselves and those that are close to them.
Emotionally, it is easy to focus on the past and the damage done. It is also easy to create an unrealistic sense of entitlement demanding justice, monetary damages, system change, control, public apologies and scarlet letters....but while these may all have merit to some degree...it is critically important to analyze the situation unemotionally and decide for yourselves individually what single resolution serves you and your family's future best...and what is the realistic expectation of success.
In ones heart we may want it all, but rationally and realistically what is attainable is almost always nowhere near the optimal.
I hear people speaking of class action, jail time, regulators involvement, shareholder control, system change, etc., etc. etc.
Consider these two scenarios of conclusion of the countless scenarios that exist.
Which would you rather see happen on the day of the resolution? 6 months after resolution? 5 years after resolution?
While this oversimplifies things, these are the types of questions one must ask themselves, as these are the very questions that create real priorities and in turn will help one focus efforts.
I bring this up as clearly there are many efforts still afoot to find resolution one way or another which is without doubt commendable, it is however important to understand that every decision and step taken should never be taken lightly.
Focus on realistic expectations of resolution and those that are of highest priority first for you and your family...as only those may in the end be achievable.
and remember also,
what may be a priority for you the individual...even with the best of intentions...may not be the priority of others and like it or not...any action taken in this case is always speaking for the shareholders as a group.
one man's opinion.
