I assume Dividends are considered capital gains? If not how are they taxed?

Lets assume that I choose to hold my shares indefinitely and just collect any dividends paid out due to the sale of properties (Tesoro, Vilcoro, etc) as has been suggested as a possible scenario. How are those dividends taxed?
