All that is needed for proper Regulation and Oversite is Good, all encompasing Legislation with strong and effective Enforcement. That should not be very difficult to accomplish. Just requires some honesty and sensible appointments with maintainence of Integrity.
It think much of what actually goes on is that many feel that in order to play with a level playing field most who desire solid stable well regulated markets and associated business (that kind of thing in one form or another) end up having to take measures to stay competative with the "Idle Minded, Very Cleaver, and often (too often) very Unscruplos ".
The result is repeated episodes of Market Crashes like the S&L's, the Teck Boom, and now the Credit Market matter. What may be next? Could well be that we are in the Late Early tages of the same for Commodities.
Where there is opportunity and poor or lacking oversite there tends to be misuse and eventual abuse.
I would like to live a healthy productive life contributing but such is too often diffivult given the vested interests who desire to be "In Charge" at any cost.
