One of the biggest business-to-business trade shows in Northern Ontario is set for April 28 at Thunder Bay's Valhalla Inn.

The Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce is hosting Prosperity Northwest, a full day of networking, seminars and opportunities for business owners to showcase their products and services.

Leading off the day is a presentation by Moe Lavigne, vice-president of exploration and development of KWG Resources-Canada Chrome. He is outlining his company's five-year plan for a chromite mine and railway in the 'Ring of Fire' in the James Bay lowlands.

With him will be Nels Ojard of Krech Ojard Engineers, which is participating in a railway feasibility study from the Big Daddy deposit near McFaulds Lake, to Exton in northwestern Ontario.

The event agenda is conference-style with educational seminars running throughout the day and breaks in between for professionals to meet and greet.

There will be presentations by experts on Harmonized Sales Tax, LEAN efficiency training, workplace violence legislation, marketing to First Nations and how to sell to big public buyers.

The trade show runs from 8:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Doors are open to the general public at 4 p.m.

To participate in the seminars, pre-register by contacting show manager Nancy Milani at 807-624-2621 or by e-mail at nancy@tb-chamber.on.ca
