Black Thor could be a 'catalyst': Cliffs

By CAROL MULLIGAN THE SUDBURY STAR

Please go there and read the news. I find it some parts of it very interesting and wonder the implications for UC. I have copied those sections here in bold with my musings following in italic.

“There is enough chromite in that part of the Black Thor to process for 30 years, but "the Ring of Fire has potentially a lot more than just chromite to develop," said Boor in an interview Monday from Cleveland. "We know there are countless exploration companies up there looking for diamonds and nickel and copper.

Hmmmm, who has a 43-101 for copper in the RoF.

and none of those projects could ever justify the infrastructure that we're talking about," …. Boor said the Cliffs project at Black Thor "can be a catalyst to get the right infrastructure in place, then there's more development up there.

Interesting ?!?!?!

When his company moves to further develop the Black Thor and two other sites it owns or partially owns, the employment will be "multigenerational. It's a long time." Frank Smeenk is president of KWG Resources Inc., which owns about 30% of the Big Daddy, one of three main deposits in the Ring of Fire. The remaining 70% is owned by Cliffs.

Now this is interesting, did Mr. Boor make this connection for Carol Mulligan of the Sudbury Star, or did she connect the dots on her own. Once the JV buy-in is ratified, I seem to recall that CLF will own about 27% of the Copper deposits shared with UC and KWG at McFaulds #1 & #3.

Smeenk says ….. More mines will also be found in those areas."

Now I am not hallucinating that the Cu and Zn shared between UC, KWG and CLF could be the economic drivers in the RoF, but I am sure that in review of this article that both Smeenk and Boor know the value in the ground at #1 &#3 can translate to $$$ in their war chests. I have no reason to believe that UC or CLF or KWG have any interest in mining these deposits, but I do believe that the huge tract of land UC is winning privilege to holds incredible potential, and that an outright sale of the land for development $$$$’s could be in the back of our partners minds.

Mine too!
