Now, what I did not mention is the 1000 pound gorilla no-one has mentioned and that is the very strong likelyhood (IMO only) that First Mexican and UC will merge and soon. Makes sense, UC has revenue to help FMG with exploration on Karen/Hilda property, mutually beneficial marriage which will attract significant big guy interest and heck, they only have to move furniture down the hall. This could be one reason share prices have been knocked down on both to make this courtship cheaper. Lastly, another reason for delayed comminication as secrecy in these situations is critical.
