What I know about NASCAR racing, you could write on a postage stamp, but I will try a comparison anyway. It takes a car, a driver, a pit crew, and fuel in the tank to participate in a race. It sounds to me like what you are saying is that you think we might have a pretty good car, and the pit crew might be good at what they do, but you don't like the driver. Even if the car (and the driver) were to win the race, you resent the money spent on fuel.
How can one root for the car, but not the driver?
Frankly, if we win, I won't remember a thing about the fuel, and I might even get myself a baseball cap with the driver's name on it.
