Jeff,
It seems, an anonymous poster on Raging Bull who went by the name of "Maddog12_34_56" is now partially to blame.
Amazing.
My recollection of Raging Bull at the time "Maddog" was posting was that there were numerous "negative" posters that were very articulate and persuasive. They included Louis DiFrancesco who was probably the most knowledgable poster on the board, "MMMary" - who did extensive research, "eildave" and his straight man partner whose name I can't recall, "den-of-thieves" - who constantly warned against investing in what he repeatedly referred to as "this POS", "smokindarts", "Hackertom", "rsteger"- a long time skeptic who frequently cautioned readers, "nanotruthmeister" - a name similar to a recent poster here on Agora, "rreahard", "snuffer", "kire22", "doc3B" - who alternately was optimistic and pessimistic, depending on the day of the week, "SIRIUS", "brandonshea", "WillyWizzardClub","churak2", "nietoperzyk", "stanzer", and a number of others.
I take it from what you said, that none of these were credible, even though (when you discount bbarrett's multiple personalities)their posts outnumbered everyone else's by a margin of over 2/1.
Whether you like to admit it or not, you also made your share of "positive posts" and contributed significantly to the excitement about NPCT. Though this is one of your more neutral posts, it illustrates your perspective at the time, clearly recognizing the level of risk.
How quickly we forget.

Spankster... Many of us have been in Nanopierce much longer than you. I have been in almost 4 years. First purchase was at 6-3/8. Have continued to add, and, haven't sold a share. You're right .... this investment has been one surprise after another. However, the reasons I originally invested haven't changed... the tech still has potential. I'm sure each of us will wish we had done something different when this game is over; but, after all, we are invested in a high risk venture. If the company never makes it, I will regret not selling sooner (and also not being able to resist the urge to invest more over the years). But, if it makes it big, I'll be grateful that I was able to buy in at lower and lower levels. Stupid or smart? It all depends on the final outcome. There really aren't any rules for this kind of thing. For all of our sakes, the sooner we know, the better. All my personal opinion. Good luck to all longs. Jeff |
