OTTAWA - Technology licensing company Wi-LAN says it has an agreement with British Telecommunications Plc. to help the company license some of its technology patents.
Under terms of the agreement, Wi-LAN and British Telecommunications will share the net revenues generated for a portfolio of patents related to digital rights management and other technologies.
No other terms were released by Ottawa-based Wi-LAN (TSX:WIN.TO - News).
Wi-LAN's subsidiary Gladios will be responsible for programs aimed at licensing the patent portfolio.
Wi-LAN also licenses the rights to patents in its portfolio and earns money through royalty payments from companies that use the protected technology in their products and services.a
