There's another reason to attribute articles and that's for the benefit of the author who is often paid by clicks or site visits. Seeking Alpha operates this way, as do many other aggregators.

There's yet another reason: COPYRIGHT. Bearing in mind that Agoracom is a commercial site that doesn't want to run afoul of authors and other commercial sites, it's probably best to follow the Fair Use Rule as explained here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use

And there's even another reason: CONTEXT. What sort of site did the article come from, and what related topics of interest might be found there.

I could also mention FORMATTING, but I'll just leave it at that...heh.
