This option agreement does raise an interesting point.

They now are in a situation where they need over a half mill dollars by mid October. Not for further exploration, but just to pay out prior committments. Their actions indicate they will be in a position to cover by then.

If they don't hit, they will have to do it at a nickel, in an awful market.

Maybe I'm stupid, but I somehow don't think they are.
