Correa earned his economics degree from a US university & I understand his mother lives in the US. He was democratically elected & has about 3 years left in this term. Oil I'll leave to someone else but I think the companies involved struck corrupt deals with previous administrations. Chavez is almost a neighbor. Should he take up arms against him? For your own good isn't it better to appear to get along? As to the US base I think I've heard that type of political posturing in Canada. There currency is US $'s.
