Just as we all think that the mining law would clarify where we stand next week (i.e. allowing mining and favourable taxes, royalties, etc.), along comes the new spin of the constitution superceding the mining law and "confiscating" half of FDN scenario. According to Otto, that's is still OK, because there is a lot at FDN, so to speak (in layman's term) and our SP should still double.

That is pure fantasy.

No one will ever invest in a country where the government with a stroke of a pen takes away half of what you own. There will be a selloff of ARU shares so fast that would make our heads spin. Unless that is clarified quickly we will actually see another hugh sell of of ARU next week.

You know what? These political fanatics who run Ecuador now are crazy enough to do it too. We always try to calm ourselves that because these people have economic degrees (Correa, Acosta et el) they should know what's best "economically" for thier country. So far we have not seen anything to that regard.

What a bummer!
