The company whose shareholders were better than its management

I try not to worry about the Kinross first bid too much. Since when do takeovers OKed on the first bid? There is the ultimate trump card in place - "A Superior Offer" can nix the deal and Kinross walks away with $42 million + the profit on the newly acquired 15 miliion ARU shares. That actually makes Kinross a good bargain if its share price continues to fall.

I am sure Kinross and ARU are both counting on such an offer coming. Let's face it Kinross does not have the resources to deveolp FDN either. I believe this is no more than a classic bluff play from Cinderella to Prince Charming - "If you don't marry me now I will marry Quisimoto".

A $10 ALL CASH DEAL WOULD BE AN AUTOMATIC SUPERIOR OFFER!

How hard would it be for the Barricks and Newmonts of this world to make an offer like that. If they get ARU for that price - $1.5 billion - it is still a steal of this century.

Stay tuned and enjoy this ongoing ARU saga my friends.
