Daniella Dimitrov,
Director and Vice-Chair
Ms. Dimitrov has over 16 years of broad commercial and operational experience in senior executive roles with major international companies. Ms. Dimitrov has held principal roles in mergers, acquisitions, financings, corporate finance and joint ventures. She has also been responsible for major operating divisions including information technology and project management/development and the integration of multiple acquired businesses. Ms. Dimitrov has held various consulting roles in the mining industry since 2009 including with the Company. Ms. Dimitrov’s former positions include Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives of Raymond James Ltd., Chief Operating Officer of Dundee Securities and Dundee Private Investors, General Counsel for the Dundee group of companies and counsel at a national law firm. Ms. Dimitrov has served as a director or member of various financial services regulatory organizations and committees including the Industry Representative on the Board of the Investment Industry Association of Canada and director of Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments. Ms. Dimitrov has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor.
Michael T. Zurowski,
Executive Vice President
President of Baffinland from February 2004 to June 2005. In order to adhere to the guidelines of the Toronto Stock Exchange in June 2005, Mr. McCreary relinquished his role of Chairman of the company to a new non-executive Chairman. Mr. McCreary then became President of the Company and Mr. Zurowski relinquished his role as President and became the Executive Vice President. Prior to joining Baffinland, Mr. Zurowski was an independent industry consultant and an associate at Watts Griffis and McOuat where he was the project manager for the Comprehensive Mineral Development Strategy for the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Zurowski has more than 20 years experience in the management and evaluation of advanced projects including 15 years with the Rio Tinto Group, initially based in Canada, then in Africa and Europe with shorter stints in other parts of the world. With Rio Tinto, he led a comprehensive evaluation of iron ore deposits in North America, which included an evaluation of the Baffinland Mary River Iron Deposits. From January 1999 to January 2004, Mr. Zurowski was a Consulting Geologist and from April 1997 to December 1998 was a Principal Geologist for Rio Tinto Mining and Exploration Ltd. in the U.K. Mr. Zurowski is Professional Engineer graduating from the University of Toronto in 1984 with a B.A.Sc. in Geological Engineering. In addition to being on the board of Baffinland, Mr. Zurowski is a director of Matachewan Consolidated Mines, Limited.
Gwen Gareau,

Ms. Gareau has spent her career working in the mining industry. Before joining Baffinland as Controller in April, 2008, she worked as an audit manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the mining practice. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University and is a Chartered Accountant registered with the province of Ontario.
Richard (Dick) Matthews,
Vice President, Technical Services
Mr. Matthews joined Baffinland in July 2008. Before joining Baffinland, he worked as the Divisional Manager – Mining at Snowden Mining Industry Consultants, an international consulting firm. Earlier employment included operations, technical and management roles at Rossing Uranium (Namibia), Bougainville Copper and Lihir Gold Mine (Papua New Guinea), Argyle Diamonds and Rio Tinto Iron Ore (Australia), Minera Alumbrera (Argentina) and Minera Yanacocha (Peru). His experience covers many commodities; single and multiple pits and processes; surface and underground mines; selective and bulk mining methods; high and low altitudes; many climatic conditions; and start-up of several mines in remote locations. Mr. Matthews holds a Bachelor of Science (Mining Engineering) from Queen’s University.

Richard D. McCloskey,
Chairman, Acting CEO & President
Mr. McCloskey is a Mining Engineer with a Masters in Business Administration, and a third generation mining executive from a family involved in the mining industry continuously from 1906. In the 1970’s Mr. McCloskey was directly involved in negotiations with the Canadian Government to implement the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin program. Over the last 30 years he has been a director and/or officer of numerous TSX and TSX Venture Exchange listed companies involved at a senior level in the financing, exploration and development of mining properties in North and South America, Europe and Africa. Most notably, he served as a Director and member of the Independent Committee of Sutton Resources Ltd., purchased by Barrick Gold Company in 1999 (Cdn$525 million) and Canico Resource Corp recently purchased by Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (Cdn$940 million). Mr. McCloskey was President and Director of the predecessor public company that became Baffinland and served on the board of the private Baffinland for over two decades, representing the second largest shareholder of the private company, McChip Resources Inc. As President and the largest shareholder of McChip and through his other indirect and direct Baffinland holdings, Mr. McCloskey is presently the second largest shareholder of Baffinland. He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Baffinland at the Annual and General Meeting of the Company on June 16, 2005. In addition to being a director of Baffinland, Mr. McCloskey is a director of McChip Resources Inc., Matachewan Consolidated Mines, Limited and Taranis Resources Inc.

Russell Cranswick
Mr. Cranswick is a Professional Geologist with over 20 years of experience, primarily in areas of mining-oriented investment. Mr. Cranswick has been with Resource Capital Funds (“RCF”) since 2000. RCF is a resource focussed private equity group with offices in Denver, Colorado and Perth, Australia. RCF is also Baffinland’s largest shareholder. From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Cranswick served as a mining analyst with Canadian investment management firms Brink, Hudson & Lefever Ltd. and Research Capital Corporation. From 1987 to 1995, he was a mineral exploration geologist with Kennecott Canada Inc., Freeport-McMoRan Gold Company and Canamax Resources Inc. where he spent most of his time on northern Canadian projects. Mr. Cranswick served on the Geoscience Committee of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia from 1998 to 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Geology from the University of British Colombia. He has considerable public company board experience, having served on the boards of Defiance Mining Corporation, Lithic Resources Ltd., Minera IRL Limited, and Southern Cross Resources Inc. He is currently a director of Selwyn Resources Ltd., a TSX Venture exchange listed company.
Grant A. Edey
Mr. Edey is a senior executive with over 30 years of financial experience that has been primarily in the mining industry. Mr. Edey was the Chief Financial Officer of IAMGOLD Corporation from 2003 to 2007 and Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Repadre Capital Corporation from 1996 to 2003. Prior to 1996, he held senior positions with Strathcona Mineral Services Limited, TransCanada Pipelines Limited, Eldorado Nuclear Limited, Rio Algom Limited and INCO Limited. Mr. Edey has a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science (Mining Engineering) from Queen's University. He has considerable public company board experience and currently sits on the boards of a number of public companies including: Breakwater Resources Ltd. and Khan Resources.
Gary Fietz
Mr. Gary Fietz has over 22 years extensive international experience in all aspects of exploration, mining, business development and project evaluation. Mr. Fietz was recently appointed to the position of Managing Director* of New Age Exploration Limited, a junior Australian company that is targeting multi-commodity exploration and early stage projects in Australia and globally. From 2000 to 2009, Mr. Fietz held various positions with BHP Billiton Limited (“BHP”), including as Vice President, Business Development for Iron Ore, in which he gained valuable insight into the global iron ore markets and projects. Among various responsibilities at BHP, Mr. Fietz directed the business development activities for BHP, Iron Ore in India and West Africa and led a concept study for the multi-billion dollar Nimba iron ore project in Guinea. From 1987 to 2000, Mr. Fietz held various geological, technology support, strategy, project evaluation and business development positions with BHP Long Products, Whyalla Steelworks. Mr. Fietz obtained his Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of Adelaide, his Honours (Structural Geology) from the South Australian Institute of Technology and was a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
John W. Lydall
Mr. Lydall was Managing Director of National Bank Financial and its predecessor, First Marathon Securities Limited from January 1981 to October 2003. In 2003, he retired as head of Mining Investment Banking at National Bank Financial in Toronto and since that time has become an independent director of three Canadian based and listed mining companies: FNX Mining Company Inc. where he is lead director, Dundee Precious Metals Inc. and Baffinland. Mr. Lydall was a key member of the team that developed First Marathon Securities from a small institutional broker into a diversified and internationally recognized brokerage firm. From 1982 to 2000 he was responsible for all of First Marathon’s investment research in the mining sector. For twenty years, Mr. Lydall wrote the monthly “Metals and Mining Digest”, which became a widely quoted investment research publication. He received numerous citations as a top-ranked mining analyst during that period. Following the merger of First Marathon and National Bank in 1999 he was responsible for the integration and co-ordination of mining industry research for National Bank Financial. In January 2000, he moved to NBF’s Investment Banking group as Managing Director and, until retirement from the group in October 2003, was head of mining investment banking. During that period, he was involved in all of the firm’s investment and corporate banking activities in the mining sector, including equity and debt underwriting, mergers and acquisitions and advisory assignments. Mr. Lydall graduated with a B.Sc. (Honours), Mining Engineering, Nottingham University, UK in 1966 and in 1974 with an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, UK.
Gordon A. McCreary
Mr. McCreary was appointed Chairman of Baffinland in January 2004 and subsequently in May 2004 was also appointed Chief Executive Officer. In order to adhere to the guidelines of the Toronto Stock Exchange, in June 2005 Mr. McCreary relinquished his role of Chairman to a new non-executive Chairman and Mr. McCreary became President and Chief Executive Officer. From June 1993 to May 2004, Mr. McCreary was Vice President of Kinross Gold Company with responsibility for investor relations and corporate development. Before joining Kinross upon its formation in mid-1993, he was Vice President of Dundee Bancorp Inc. and Investment Analyst with affiliate International Corona Corporation from 1989. Prior to this, he worked as a mining analyst in the brokerage industry and at various staff and line functions in the mining industry as a mining engineer. Until his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of Baffinland, Mr. McCreary had worked almost exclusively in the gold business for over 20 years with prior experience in base metals, coal and industrial minerals. In 1978, he completed his MBA thesis entitled “A Preliminary Discussion of Factors Relating to the Transportation of Iron Ore from the Arctic Archipelago”. The focus of this thesis was the iron ore properties of Baffinland at Mary River on Baffin Island. Mr. McCreary has a B.Sc. degree in Mining Engineering (1974) and an MBA (1978), both from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. Mr. McCreary has been a member of the board of directors of several publicly traded junior mining companies and is currently on the Board of Baffinland, McChip Resources Inc. and Asia Now Resources Inc. On March 18, 2010 Mr. McCreary resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer of Baffinland.
Ronald S. Simkus
Mr. Ron Simkus has over 30 years experience in the international mining industry, with extensive knowledge in base metal ore processing technology and in the management of skilled operations, maintenance and engineering personnel. Mr. Simkus was Senior Vice-President, Mining for Corriente Resources Inc. from February 2004 to June 2006. From June 2001 to July 2003, Mr. Simkus was the President and CEO of Compania Minera Antamina S.A. in Peru where he oversaw the commissioning of the Antamina deposit and the successful transition of one of the world’s largest copper mining construction projects from a project to a sustainable mining operation. Before joining Antamina, Mr. Simkus was President and General Manager of Highland Valley Copper and has also held positions at the Polaris Mine which was located north of the Arctic Circle and the Red Dog Mine located in Alaska. Mr. Simkus obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science Degree (mining engineering/mineral processing option) from the University of Toronto and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. Mr. Simkus is also a director of Gabriel Resources Ltd. and has previously served as director of Eurozinc Mining Corporation and Skye Resources Ltd.
Gordon Watts
Mr. Watts is a professional engineer with over 45 years experience in the mining industry in exploration, development and operations. Mr. Watts specializes in the economic analysis of mining ventures and the development and application of computer systems to mining-related problems. His varied mining background also includes underground operations, exploration, mine design and feasibility studies. Mr. Watts has prepared over 250 financial models in the mineral industry during the last 28 years. He is skilled in tax modeling, risk analysis and Monte Carlo simulations. Mr. Watts has prepared models for all of the mining provinces in Canada, the majority of the mining states in the United States, Mexico, most of South America, a number of countries in Africa, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the CIS, South East Asia and Australia. Clients have included mining companies and consultants, charitable foundations, arbitration commissions, and aboriginal companies. In addition to being a director of Baffinland, Mr. Watts is a director of Cuervo Resources Inc.
