The 6 month restriction prevents the new 85% shareholders from taking quick profits on their gift. The stock still is entitled to 85% of the value of the merged companies even though it can't be sold. If there is, in fact, a short squeeze it will be magnified if those shares are not available for sale. If there is no short squeeze, the 6 month restriction doesn't matter and dilution will be a big factor.

It all comes down to if you believe their are 350 million naked shorts or not. I do not but others do.
