Final Public Hearing in Esia Review Process is completed

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 12, 2010) - Chariot Resources Limited (TSX:CHD - News) announced that the public hearing of the Mina Justa Environmental and SociaI Impact Assessment ("ESIA") review process was held Friday January 8th, 2010 in San Juan de Marcona.
David Brownrigg General Manager of Marcobre SAC (70% owned by Chariot Resources) who attended the meeting, noted that several questions began with a compliment, stating that Marcobre had conducted itself with respect, transparency, and was a true role model in the community. The Ministry took note of the positive community reaction.
"We are pleased and reassured that our work in identifying and working with the various interest groups, together with regular communication meetings within the community, have had a positive impact and that we have advanced our ESIA to next stage of the approval process, " said Ulli Rath, President and CEO of Chariot Resources.
There is a now 30 day period for any additional comments or observations by the public on the ESIA, following which it moves to the final government approval stage. The Ministry of Energy and Mines is responsible for the ESIA review process.
