Comments:

Wind Power: Didn't go over well on the East Coast, people didn't want the eyesore of huge Windmills blocking their view of the ocean.

Corn: Everything I've read says it costs as much -- or more -- energy from other sources to produce as much ethanol as the process requires. I'm sure there's exageration on both sides, but I've read quite a bit of diverse material. Also caused something of a disturbance with the tortilla flour prices.

Sugar cane: Good luck.

Coal: Have we been following the situation in China? In some areas they can't see during the daytime with their headlights on. Clouds from the pollution are drifting across the ocean to other countries, and have even been reported on the West Coast. Acid rain is a harmful byproduct.

I'm no expert in any of this, just things I've read.
