Hi XIII
I did not say that " that ethanol is useless , will never work and is not a good investment vehicle ". I stated that ethanol from corn was a very bad idea as you hardly get any more energy out than you put in and it drastically impacts the cost of food! I also pointed out the number of acres it would take to use sugar cane to replace 50% of the gasoline with ethanol made from it, which as you can see is not realistic. I also mentioned cellulosic ethanol in my first post as being a possibility but the technology for producing it has not been proven. There was one company a while back that convinced a lot of investment brokers that it had a process and the stock was being recomended. Their statements were misleading and the stock plummented. The only potential viable process currently beginning to be commericialized is an enzymatic process but the venture was not publicly traded the last time I checked.
I appreciate all your posts and the information you provide to this forum, but as Peter Drucker once stated in his book "The Effective Executive ", effective decisions are made when you hear countering opinions. I always welcome countering opinions to my posts as they are a great learning experience.
Have a nice day
