"one of the 4 or 5 on this board doing their own DD. "

First of all what does "DD" mean,

Their obsession with the P/E ratio and 15 times multiple is showing luck of understanding of energy sector evaluation.

As I've stated on numerous occasions, I'm not a professional investor, I don't even work in the financial industry. I formulate my opinions thru research. I DO NOT have level 2 access. I use RBC Direct Investing.Below is the information that appears on my screen. YOU WILL NOTICE that earnings are listed as well as the P/E Ratio.. The ratio is adjusted daily with the SP changes. Forgive me for being naive but I've always assumed that if the information is present, then it's relative. I can only base my assumptions on the information available.

"Junior Explores like UTS or BQI are mostly evaluated on NAVPS ,not the earnings. Junior Explores/Producers like CLL are the combinations of NAVPS and Cash flow/share and some more parameters like Debt/cash flow or EV/Daily bbl flow. Major producers and Integrated will be evaluated by cash flow/sh or P/E. Obviously this is not the function of simple arithmetic's since every company is somewhat different."

Again forgive me for my apparent lack of understanding. I'm under the impression that CLL is now a junior producer, and as such the company is being evaluated based upon performance and not speculation. A producer is a producer, quantity of product sold shouldn't play any part in the method used to calculate SP. I could understand how the other factors would be used in an exploration company as it produces nothing except the location of the natural resource. CLL has now moved into the producer category.

An earning is an earning is it not? Please enlighten me as to why earnings are used to evaluate one oil producer and not another.
