Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if CLL are monitoring their pollution and carbon footprints? I don't find anything on their website. Perhaps (as always) 2C has the answer. I do know that SAGD is less of an impact on the envirionment than the miners but does anyone have any figures. The reason I ask this is because I beleive (and I've said it in the past) that one of the things that can go wrong is if the environmentalists get their way. Even the biggest polluters in the world (U.S.) are jumping on the blame the next guy wagon. Please read the following article.

The ban they mentioned seems like it would be impossible to implement for several reasons.
1.) They need the oil very badly.
2.) How can you tell if the oil is derived from conventional sources or oilsands.
3.) Some extraction methods are far worse environmentaly than others. What would be the cutoff point where you would be an unacceptable supplier.
5.) This action, if implemented, would only serve to increase the price of oil and that would make for political suicide surely. Are we not already hurting badly from the high price.
6.) China India and others will be clapping their hands and sending their tankers.
7.) How can this happen with the Big Oil Companies running the US.
Comments are highly appreciated.
