Connacher is a growing exploration, development and production company with a focus on producing bitumen and expanding its in-situ oil sands projects located near Fort McMurray, Alberta
At the end of this period (and it will end-at present we are not just sure how) we all need to remember just what brought us to this point. The answer is greed and victimization. Greed on the part of the banks, mortgage companies, mortgage brokers. Companies and individuals whom did not care who got hurt as long as they got more. The lax regulators who refused to enforce security and lending laws.
The legislators who refused to police the very industries from whom they were receiving largesse while their positon of public trust required them to protect the public interest. In fact, they protected only their own private interest in a total betrayal of their oaths of office. Then in turn when questioned, attempt to lie, prevaricate and deliver to the public their own self serving excuses as to why they saw fit to receive funds from the victimizers while failing to work in the interests of the society at large who in fact pay their salaries. But not their graft!
All in all, a sad, disgusting tale of betrayal of public trust perpetrated on the public at large by those who do not deserve to remain in their positons from which they can affect the public welfare.
Regardless of political affiliation, any political leader demonstrating such behavior, should be removed from office by whichever process is most expeditous. And in full disgrace to which his/her actions have so eminently qualified them. At least with a corrupt business person, I have the alternative of not doing business with them. Let us make it so with the political and regulatory people we employ.
