Agreed, however there are many suggesting that warranties can be backed up by the Government as part of a PKG. The UAW is terrified of the auto makers going bankrupt as it will allow all union contracts and legacy costs to be eliminated. TARP mony will have strings attached of course, but the UAW is hoping that existing contracts won't have to be openned.
