Connacher is a growing exploration, development and production company with a focus on producing bitumen and expanding its in-situ oil sands projects located near Fort McMurray, Alberta
Hi Sharky Happy Birthday!
In response to your posting. The last presentation states that it takes 300 days (10 months) from when Connacher gets the environmental approval to complete the building phase so if they resume building at the beginning of June they should probably be finished construction by February 2010 if we assume that they have already completed one month of construction already before they stopped. Drilling the 15 well pairs would probably be completed by the beginning or end of March and then it will take 3 months of steaming after that to heat up the chamber so production most likely could begin in June of 2010 as far as I can guestimate.
From Mr Guesella's interview on BNN the Business News Network in Canada today while he mentioned nothing about Algar or resumining construction I got the impression that he feels that the current downturn in the economy will last longer than people are currently thinking that it will last so maybe June 2009 is being optimistic for restarting construction. I guess it will also depend on Connacher's financing in terms of how long they can postphone construction at Algar if the economy doesn't pick up quickly and balance that with how soon they will need the cashflow from Algar to start paying down debt.
Cheers; Scott
