Good day on the market. Short covering in the financial sector and over sold conditions are mainly responsible for this nice move. News about reinstating the Uptick rule and market to market accounting made the shorts nervous.

Oil is down to $45+ level (See my WTI blues post). CLL is in trading range waiting for the TSX decision about exclusion from the TSX300 index (decision date March 13).

Bitumen pricing, see below.

Bitumen price;

I post this before. "Bitumen at Hardisty" column is a Dil- Bit priced in CND$ per/m3. You divide this by 6.29 and then adjust for diluent by multiply by 0.8 to get the bitumen price.

If you compare the historical data provided in Q2/Q3 by CLL management you will find that this equation works very well. Some how CLL Bitumen selling price was lower by about 5% in comparison to posted at Haristy. Using this proved to be very accurate in calculating the POD1 cash flow in Q2/Q3 2008.
