In Ontario right now GM and Chrysler are practically giving away their cars and sales still haven't increased. Why,even though the product is the same people's perspective of the company has changed. Nobody is too interested in buying cars from bankrupt companies. Cutting production and hedging was the correct thing to do..You don't sell product at a loss if you don't have to. They had a gun pointed at their head and took measures not to get shot. AGAIN hindsight is 20/20, the market seems to have started to recover, but many are still forecasting another collapse. CLL is long term, any measures that were taken to ensure survival will become a blip on the screen in a few years.
