Europe is going right as they've seen the damage a welfare state run by unions can do. You're bankrupt. Also multiculturalism and massive Muslim immigration is causing cultural problems as well..
In the U.S Obama was a fluke. First of all he lied to Americans by presenting himself as a centrist then turning hard left once elected. The media protected his far left history from the public. Also he was losing the election until the economy collapsed. The U.S always votes left when scared of a bad economy and vote Right when scared for their safety.
Here in Canada , well we're just stupid..The Conservatives have done well with a minority Gov for 5 years. We've got 4 political parties 3 are left leaning that under the Parliamentary system can form a coalition..THE NDP is a far left Party that was never taken seriously until this election primarily due to Quebec. Quebec currently votes for a Quebec based Separatist Party called the Bloc Quebecois. Quebec has now thrown it's support to the NDP effectively taking it over. NDP Leader Jack Layton is from Montreal and was active in the Quebec separation movement of the early 70's...
The NDP is very dangerous to our markets. They want to hike business taxes, hike payroll taxes, put a carbon tax in place and also prohibit all major tanker ships from operating off the B.C coast. This of course would shut off shipping oil and Nat gas to Asia. They also don't want the pipeline to be built.
The reason our markets and CLL in particular are not doing well is because of the election. ( results will be in tonight Midnight latest)..If the current Conservatives don't win tonight with a majority the left wing parties will unite to overthrow the Government effectively reversing the election result. The question will be who will head the coalition , the far left NDP or the canter left Liberals.
