There's an estimated 13 million guns in Canada for a population of 33 million. Lot's of paperwork here as well but once you get a permit you can own as many guns as you want.

You also have to be a member of a Gun club ONLY if you wish to own restricted firearms ( hand guns and rifles with less than a 16" barrel and also all AR 15 and AK 47 variants).

United States allows carry permits ( open and concealed) in about 38 States..This means that people with carry permits can walk around in public with guns). Hopefully we'll be getting the same ability here in Canada. Problem is that in Canada , as well as most European Countries, we don't have the right to protect ourselves.In Canada if someone breaks into your house and your dog attacks the intruder, the theif can sue you for excessive force.
